Last weekend our little man learned to ride his bike. I had been practicing a little bit each day with him running up and down the driveway holding the back of his seat. This was no easy task as he's one of those fearful kids who was constantly turning around to see if I was still holding on (he's on to my tricks), and complaining that he wants to go inside and watch Spongebob, etc. etc. There was yelling involved. I seriously bribed him with small handfuls of chocolate chips each day promising a full bag when he could do it himself. What!? |
It worked! It was so funny to watch his expression when he turned around and noticed that HE was riding his bike and I wasn't holding on to his seat anymore! When Papa came home from work we just HAD to show him a.s.a.p! I ran to get the camera. He still needs someone to start him off and he hasn't mastered steering or turning yet, AND he usually ends up in the grass, but all in good time. |
Yes, Henry is in his undies. He's ALWAYS in his undies. If you come to visit us unannounced there is a 99% chance he will answer the door in his undies. That's the reason I buy him boxer briefs because they are kinda like shorts and we are learning to compromise. Pants on in public - that's our rule. |
I get a little teary looking at him in this picture. Sometimes I see him and think, Who is this kid? Where did my baby go? Everyone says time goes so fast. It doesn't really feel that way everyday, but it sure does seem like it when you look at pictures from the past year or two. It's awesome and scary at the same time. |
He was pretty proud of himself - that's a thumbs-up if you didn't notice... :) Thanks Auntie JoAnn for picking up this bike for Henry (I think almost 4 years ago!). We knew it would come in handy someday!! |
